Photo from The War Illustrated, 3 July 1915. Caption reads:
British and French soldiers about to erect a field telegraph behind the fallen fort of Seddul Bahr. The latest efforts of the Turks, under their German leader, General Liman von Sanders, to "drive the British into the sea" have resulted in about 8,000 Turkish casualties to 500 or so British. The Allies have now secured a firm foothold on the Gallipoli Peninsula under enormous difficulties.
